2020 PT reloc

Portugal Relocation; 2019-2021

Kind of a big deal; moving to Portugal.  For the Corvette the preparation and planning started in early 2019.  It eventually was loaded on a ship July 14, 2020 to sail to Portugal in a 20' container.  It arrived at my house in Portugal in late August, 2020.  Ever since, I have been dealing with Portuguese Customs and IMT to get it legalized with a Portugal license plate, etc.  That process has dragged out.

Reliable Carriers took it from Shaun's house to Schumacher's warehouse in Elizabeth, NJ.

Shumacher Cargo Logistics loaded it into a 20' container in preparation for loading onto the ship.

The ship arrived in Lisbon August 12.  The Corvette will be delivered to my home (minha casa) August 24.  Here it is at the yard of the arrival agent, Galamas, near the port of Lisbon:

No visible damage from the journey.  This makes me happy.

It made to minha casa on Monday August 24.
It is now a Portuguese Sting Ray ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. It's a lot of effort and not a small expense to move to Portugal. However, having it made it to the other side of that effort, I can say we love it. And, the Portuguese love American muscle cars.

  4. I believe if you hold both citizenships US and Portugal and you move to Portugal you entitled to bring one car and one motorcycle you pay a very little fee! I’m thinking of bringing my Dodge Viper and my Harley Davidson just worried about finding people to work on them! I’m from the North of Portugal!

  5. I believe if you have both citizenships and move back to Portugal you allowed to bring one car and one motorcycle and it’s very cheap to legalize it in Portugal!
